Day 2009 This year's Veterans Day program was at the Legion Post 300 - 123 Main St. (entrance off DuPage Bank parking lot) by the flag pole. The program started at 10:30 am and finished a little after 11 with the traditional 21 gun salute. A light luncheon was served was served thereafter. The speaker was former mayor and Post Commander Gene Rennels. The firing squad was from Post 330 and VFW Post 6791. I owed this one to Theresa. |

- Philip Weibler"The parade was fun for both marchers and watchers. Winner of the Grand Marshal Award for the float best demonstrating the parade’s theme, “The Sky’s the Limit,” was Friends of the West Chicago City Museum. West Chicago Sister Cities won the Turner Award, best depicting the scope of a business or organization. WeGo Youth won the Heritage Award, recognizing the enthusiasm and purpose of youth organization participants." - Burleigh |
